Write for a listener
Read the draft aloud. Long written sentences and lists often need shortening. Leave time for demonstrations and visual pauses instead of filling the entire runtime with narration.
Separate fixed wording from direction
Mark approved claims, names and quotations that must remain verbatim. Put scene directions and pronunciation notes on separate lines so they are not confused with spoken text.
Choose language and voice
The current brief offers English, Chinese and bilingual choices. State both the spoken language and subtitle language, and describe the desired tone and pace.
Supply authorised references
If requesting a voice clone, provide a sample under one minute and the required permission. A voice reference is not permission to impersonate another person.
Check the preview
Listen for names, technical terms, emphasis and timing. Review subtitle spelling and placement on the actual format you ordered.
